End of Black History Month 2015

2/28/15
I saw Tonya Lundy this afternoon at the intersection of S. College St. and E. Mill St.  This woman acted like she didn’t know who I am, and I think she locked the door.  This is that Multiplicity of Labor things going on.
This is the last day of Black History Month 2015.  These things are still a happening.  We can work it out.  It doesn’t matter.  The tool that Willie Lynch put in place is still there, but there is a crack in the foundation.

Beautiful Day 2015

2/28/2015
Today is a beautiful day.  God has smiled on me.  I have started with the presentation, and I have $10.00 to start with that was earned at Williams Towers.  I want to be able to present “John Malivn” today since it is the last day of Black History Month.
I have learned to ask for what you want.  People, especially Black Women are looking for a bargain!  DON’T EVER FORGET THAT!  This is finances, Willie Lynch ran into problems with the black people about the almighty dollar.
If no one wants to hear it, I’ll read it to me again.

Proceed with Caution.

2/27/2015
I am blessed.  I thank God for the many blessings.  Working hard and being persistent has its PERTs.  I will attempt once again to do what is his will.

Selling John Malvin at Williams Towers 2015

Selling John Malvin 2015
Selling the John Malvin Story seems a little harder than it seems.  I have to be precise and ask for what I want.  I cannot expect anyone to do anything that has not been asked for.  Things are not always what they seem.  It is important to explore and research everything so in times of trouble; we know exactly how to act.
There will be those that say they are your friend.  That is a common thing here in Ohio.  In the south, we know exactly where our place is.  In the north one must be exceptionally careful.  Choose wisely, and be sure you choose the truth.  “Truth” is your only defense.  Never compromise your integrity; no matter what.
It is the 2015 Spring Season let us spring into action with the Grace Park Block Club and the Howard Carter Foundation 2015

Today I must have done something right.  I have a pip appointment; I was able to attend the African American Celebration held at the Heaven of Rests.  This is their 23 celebration, and I was allowed a Large Fried Chicken Breast, a Large Piece of Fried Whiting Fish, and a good portion of Mac, and Cheese like mama made.
It feels a little raw to be outside looking in; but right now this is the safest place to be.  I will concentrate my energies on the University of Akron.  The evil ones look as though they are winning, but do not be dismayed.
Today; one of the people that continually attempts to interact with me, was on stage at the Haven of Rest.  The African American Celebration was an acknowledgement of something; I’m just not sure what it was.  There was drumming, and singing, and speaking.
There was a white drummer, singing was too loud, speaker almost ran out of time before he actually said something worth listening to.  I heard something about African American Celebration, and then God.  Then the celebration was over.
It would have been nice to hear about some kind of African, or Black person, that has done, or is doing something in the community to empower the African.  That did not happen.  We need to educate out people and stop depending on this type of thing.
Don’t get me wrong.  Celebration is good.  Free is good, but our children need to know that we have to work hard for things.  Money is the way, and reason our children don’t have anything.  Free is not good because we will never know our worth.

Williams Towers 2015a

2/23/2015
I AM HAPPY.  Good things are happening.  I will do my second presentation of John Malvin tomorrow at Williams Towers.  This time I will explain how I was informed about Williams Towers, and have Ms. Jean talk about her project.
There are still some things that are not taken care of, but I believe these things will take care of themselves.  I am putting the finishing touches to the video that will be available this year.  I hope that I haven’t messed up my opportunity to use the Media Center.  There is a black girl there now.
I will attempt to complete this video and have copies for tomorrow’s event.  Price $10 00.

Williams Towers 2015

2/17/2015
John Malvin went well at the Williams Towers.  I have seen growth as well as the haters trying to hate.  I scared me.  I know I have this ability, and will improve as time goes on.  Welcome to the Lenten Season 2015
I will take on responsibilities this year starting with cleaning my apartment.  Thank God from whom all blessings flow.

Starting the Journey 2015

2/16/2015
Today is will start again. I have a request from Chris Miller to return the equipment for the digital center? I talked with the General Manager from the Cab Company, and made up my mind to be nice. It is important to be nice.
Tomorrow, I will journey to Williams Towers to begin the John Malvin Tour. This has been a long time coming and will be a long time gone. It is amazing to see just how people seem to think that one is supposed to just take the maladaptive behaviors they put before you.
I ask now that the lord go before me, and stand beside me, and build me up on every leaning side, and I will be careful to give him all the honor, the glory ,and the praise.

It is that time of year again.  In the spring; Edge Academy will journey to Grace Park for their yearly Physical Fitness Program.  This deed clearly states the purpose of this park.  I don't understand why this school doesn't have a campus of why our community has to put up with this behavior.
The Edge Academy moved into the community and put fences around their buildings, cut off foot traffic, and now are invading our park.  We have the right to preserve our heritage.

Paying Respect 2015

2/12/15
To the God that has brought me this far by faith be all the honor, the glory, and the praise.  God has called me to tell the story of “john Malvin” First Freed Man and Canal Boat Captain on the Erie & Ohio Canal.
My stewardship is story telling by way the Performing Arts.  Fortunately; the character fits in real time.  Although John Malvin lived over 150 years ago, not too much has changed.  I understand what it is like to want to do, be a part, but more importantly; make an honest living is still not present.
There have been changes, but the dominant culture still continues with their White Domination, there are still levels of labor, and the roles have been challenged, but are still in place.  In the day of John Malvin, Black People found a way to unite.  We have not arrived yet.
I ask for your prayers.  I know what I have to do.  All I have to do is do it.  I ask that the Lord go before me, stand beside me, and build me up on every leaning side, and I will be careful to give him all the honor, the glory, and the praise.
Amen.

John Malvin Williams Towers

2/12/15
Presenting “John Malvin” and understanding in real time.
The road has been rough, but I have made it.  I have researched, and researched again to determine I am about as clear as I can be on this part of the subject.  Now that I have gotten this far, the trials have begun.  People that have posed to be a friend, and now showing their true colors.
I have learned that observation, and listening; is the key.  Keeping silent is almost impossible because some people just won’t let you, and then when it is time to speak up, speak up.  There is a controlled language, and some people pretend they don’t know what one is talking about.  THEY KNOW.  Usually; these are the individuals that have put these things into existence.  The term is Cognitive dissidence.

Hannibal Barca of Carthage, North Africa

Image: Coin bearing the image of Hannibal and his famed battalion of elephants.
In 247 B.C., the year Hannibal Barca was born, the Carthage empire was about 500 years old. Known as one of the greatest strategist in military history, the battles of Hannibal would strike a turning point in the history of the continent that would be called Africa.

Carthage had been settled by Phoenicians in North Africa near the current Tunis. In his 1961 work, French Historian Gabriel Audisio comments that he considered "Hannibal to be neither a Phoenician, nor a Carthaginian, nor a Punic, but a North African... The majority of the Punic populace seems to have had African, indeed Negroid, ancestry."

The Carthaginians, according to Audisio's research, mixed freely with the native populations of North Africa. The Punic of North Africa seem to have been a mix between the Phoenicians and native North Africans, the Berbers. The Phoenicians were a Semitic people said to have migrated from north of Palestine into Northern Africa, spreading their dominion throughout the Mediterranean regions. They were primarily known as merchant traders with an economy tied to the sea trades.

There is no picture of Hannibal in existence today. The coin above is frequently presented by commentators as a representation of Hannibal and his legacy of tamed elephants. While this writer was not able to find authority that the coins were made contemporaneously during or near the life of Hannibal -- which was more than 2,000 years ago -- the existence of such coinage during some point during our common age is no surprise in light of Hannibal's historical legacy.

What we do have are descriptions of Hannibal by commentators of his time. According to the Roman historian Levy of the first century of our era, Hannibal was "fearless, utterly prudent in danger, indefatigable, able to endure heat and cold, controlled in eating habits, unpretentious in dress, willing to sleep wrapped in military cloak, a superb rider and horseman." He was the son of the Carthage general Hamilcar Barca. There is no knowledge of his mother in the history records, not even her name. He had two brothers: Hasdrubal resided in Spain and Maharbal was captain of Hannibal's calvary.

Carthage and Rome were at war during the First Punic War (264-241 B.C.). Both empires were seeking supremacy over the Mediterranean. Hannibal's father, Hamilcar Barca, general of the Carthaginian mercenaries, was infuriated about the western Mediterranean losses of Sicily and Sardinia. When Hannibal was 17 years old, however, his father was killed in an ambush in Spain, which was primarily under the rule of the North African empire. Hannibal would son step fully into his military career.

Map of Carthage empire and Roman empire

In October 218 B.C., during the Second Punic War, Hannibal had arrived at the Alps. His soldiers are said to have stretched for more than eight miles at the Alps, the foothills of the Roman Empire. Hannibal's army of 100,000 men would trek and fight 1,500 miles to arrive at the Alps from Spain. Hannibal armies included Numidians, North Africans from an area roughly where Algeria now draws its boundaries. The Numidians were known as master horsemen who could guide their horses with their knees, leaving their hands free to use swords and throw javelins. They had fought attacks from European tribes like the Gauls.

Hannibal is said to have given this speech to the army of men who had survived and crossed the swift-flowing Rhone river:
"Why are you afraid?... The greater part of our journey is accomplished. We have surmounted the Pyrenees; we have crossed the Rhone, that mighty river, in spite of the opposition of thousands of Gauls and the fury of the river itself. Now we have the Alps in sight. On the other side of those mountains lies Italy.... Does anyone imagine the Alps to be anything but what they are--lofty mountains. No part of the earth reaches the sky, or is insurmountable to mankind. The Alps produce and support living things. If they are passable by a few men, they are passable to armies."
Hannibal lost half of his army in the first two weeks into the Alps. Landslides were touched off by mountain tribes. Men died during hand battle with tribesmen. Starvation and disease were also companions of the embattled lot. Polybus, a Greek historian and contemporary to Hannibal, described Hannibal's arrival to the Po Valley with about 26,000 men. At the Po Valley, Hannibal is said to have made this speech:
"Soldiers! You have now surmounted not only the ramparts of Italy, but also Rome. You are entering friendly country inhabited by people who hate the Romans as much as we do. The rest of the journey will be smooth and downhill, and, after one, or at most a second battle, you will have the citadel and capital of Italy in your possession."
Commentators have speculated on why Hannibal spoke these words because the men were about to face the most difficult part of the journey. Friends did not await in the Po Valley. Here, the Roman army would meet the men in battle. In retrospect, considering how far the men had come, there really was no going back at this point. The Carthaginians believed that Rome was considering an invasion of Africa. Hannibal believed he had to act through an overland attack on Roman to save Carthage. He would spend 15 years in Italy, winning many battles -- such as the Battle of Cannae where he lost 6,000 troops to Rome's 70,000 troops.

We know Hannibal did not succeed, but are astonished by how close he came to success. The second of the Punic Wars was over. When Hannibal eventually retreated with his army to Carthage, his army was defeated by Scipio Africanus in the Battle of Zama.  Always sought by the Romans, when Hannibal was about the age of 64 and to be taken prisoner, he took poison and is recorded to have stated:
"Let us now put an end to the great anxiety of the Romans who have thought it too lengthy and too heavy a task to wait for the death of a hated old man."

Black History Month 2015

2 6 15
I have had a problem presenting Miller Horns.  I have completed some episodes of our friendship.  It is time to present.  Miller Horns is a friend that taught me things that I didn't know about Akron, Ohio.
Miller encouraged me to remember some of the things that I had forgotten.  That was good.  Miller Horns commanded that I research “John Malvin” I’m glad that he did.  I need support from the community because we must know our Local Black History.  What I have learned is the culture that has taken up its position is allowed to tweak hi- story.
That doesn't mean that the information is wrong, it means; this culture is allowed to omit portions, pieces, and parts of what is the whole story.  Miller Horns Local Black Artist found a way to start the preservation of Howard St.
Howard Carter will start taking a look at the Local Black History starting Feb. 17 at Williams Towers at 2:00 pm.  Come out and learn some of our Local Black History.

February 2015

February 2015
2/3/2015
Finally; January is over.  It is time to do history.  Tomorrow, I am supposed to journey to Wilmington N. Carolina for the Battle at Forks Road.  This comes at a time when new things are happening.  This is great.  Tonight, I will attend, or at least I think I will attend the Community Meeting with University Park Alliance.
I need a blessing right now.  I am waiting for the results of my drug test, and hopefully, will be employed once I arrive back home.  I don’t understand why Black People have a problem with promptness, and giving ample notices for people to engage in activities.
I have learned not to stress.  Now; I have an opportunity to see if I really have learned this discipline. I will put John Malvin to the test this Black History Month.
